Unmanic Monday: Color as medicine

Color is medicine. It holds so many benefits and various frequencies which can support us through various moments and events.

Unmanic your Monday by simply tuning into the color you are craving. Then lean into what it may mean for you, or what you may be shifting through. I’ll relay that shortly.

But first … a share! There was an ancestor who told me about purple as medicine; the first mass-produced synthetic color.

Mauveine was synthesized by accident in the 1800s  when a scientist named Perkins (namesake of the Perkins Institute) was trying to create a treatment for yellow fever.

Instead, he created a color phenomenon, with every well-to-do woman across the developing world wearing what they began calling the “mauveine measles”... and moreover they ended up discovering that the color purple actually WAS medicine.

Maybe this is why purple is considered to be a very “spiritual” color?!

The entire family of sulfa drugs originated from the accidental synthesis of mauveine dye.

And don’t get me started on methylene blue, the massive biohacking trend that helps optimize brain performance and can be used as an antibiotic, but is simply a liquid indigo dye!

Pretty cool, huh?

So without giving it much thought - feel into what color your body is craving.

Red = healing, physical safety, movement, actionable (I don’t advise using with auto-immune conditions)

Orange =  creativity, emotional, flow, microbiome disturbances

Yellow = cheer, joy, self-esteem, thought-based

Green = healing, calming, heart-based, love, relationships

Blue = kills bacteria, calming, communicative, soothing

Violet = advanced, spiritual, futuristic, decision, visioning

White = sleep, higher learning, link to the Divine, purpose-driven

Black = absorbing, neutral, immune system, mystical

There is always more of where this comes from, but as a general sense, feel into what you are called to, and reflect on what your body may be color craving!

Afterall, color truly is medicine.
