Unmanic Monday: Courage & The Journey Beyond Ego

As we begin this new year, I’ve been reflecting on how deeply Yeshua became a part of my everyday life and teachings throughout 2024. His presence and wisdom guided me in transformative ways. I’ve come to see his teachings as a profound roadmap for growth.

For those who may not be familiar, Yeshua is the original Aramaic name for Jesus. The name Yeshua translates to "salvation" or "deliverance," and it reflects his essence as a teacher of divine love, compassion, and oneness with the Creator. Over time, the name evolved into the Latinized form "Jesus," but for many, the name Yeshua carries a deeper connection to his true essence, free from religious constructs and rooted in universal spiritual truths.

Yeshua’s teachings transcend any specific religion and instead point to the awakening of the heart and the transcendence of the ego. He invites us to return to our divine nature by embodying love, courage, and unity.

This week, I invite that wisdom into focus, especially as we begin the year with a collective theme of courage and standing firm in our truth.

Yeshua’s teachings guide us through overcoming the ego—our false sense of self that thrives on fear, separation, and control. The ego (while a necessary part of human experience) often becomes an obstacle to our growth when it dominates our thoughts and actions. Awakening to Yeshua’s teachings means seeing beyond the ego’s illusions and aligning with the higher truth of divine unity.

Our egos tend to resist change, especially transformation.

Be reminded (spiritual) growth often requires courage. It’s about standing firm in our truth, even when faced with adversity, doubt, or external challenges. Much like Yeshua, who stood for love and oneness in the face of opposition, we are being encouraged to confront egoic fears and rise above them.

It’s not always an easy journey—there will be moments where the ego tries to pull us back into fear, insecurity, or comparison. But when we align with Yeshua’s example, we find the strength to move forward, grounded in divine love.

The process of awakening isn’t about denying or fighting the ego; it’s about recognizing it, transcending it, and standing in your authentic self. Yeshua’s message asks us to come into alignment with our highest selves, which means embracing both the light and shadow within.

When we follow Yeshua’s path of love, forgiveness, and courage, we begin to awaken to a higher truth: that we are already whole and connected.

A Practice for the Week to Kick Off Your New Year Strong:

  1. Recognize the Ego: Throughout the week, notice when your ego tries to take control. Whether it’s through fear, doubt, or a need for approval, gently acknowledge these moments without judgment. Recognizing the ego is the first step toward transcending it.

  2. Embrace Spiritual Courage: When you feel challenged or uncertain, remind yourself that growth requires courage. It’s normal to face discomfort as we grow, but standing firm in our truth, just as Yeshua did, will help us move forward with grace. To reinforce this practice, you might choose to wear a piece of jewelry, such as a pendant with a symbol of strength, or carry a stone like tiger’s eye or hematite, known for their grounding and courageous energy. Let it be a reminder that every step forward, no matter how small, requires courage.

  3. Invoke Yeshua’s Energy: In moments of difficulty, take a few deep breaths and invite Yeshua’s energy to walk beside you, and connect into your heart. Ask for guidance, love, and courage to help you transcend the ego and align with your highest self. As you carry your chosen item, remember that your intention to connect with the energy of strength and divine support, just as Yeshua’s love and wisdom guide you toward spiritual growth.

This year, as we navigate the path of growth, let’s remember that we are supported by divine love every step of the way. May Yeshua’s teachings inspire you to awaken, stand firm in your truth, and embrace the transformative power of the spirit.
